It's not just me

Perhaps it is because it's on my own mind more often, but I am finding examples of EI everywhere.  I know it's been a big thing in business for a while.  Now I see it cropping up in more blogs and in new ways.

This post on LiteMind is about Daniel Pink's new book, A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future.   I've definitely added this book to my list.  It's one thing to know why it's beneficial as a parent and even the words to use, but if you are already lacking some of that natural empathy, this looks like a great place to start for tips on how to boost those skills.

Leo Babauta, author of Zen Habits wrote a post on being compassionate towards children.   He references Taking Children Seriously, which was new to me.  I can see I'm going be spending some significant time on that site.  Check out his blog recommendations at the bottom of the article and further reading.

  1. Thanks for the article link. I'm going to read that now, looks interesting.

  2. Hi Tiffany! EI is short for Emotional Intelligence. I've written a good bit about it around the blog and there are some book suggestions in this post if you are interested in learning more.
