Be back next week

I was going for at least one post a week, but unless you count this one, it's going to be next week before I can get back to it.  We are going through another round of the stomach flu here.

Actually, this does lead to a question that I wish I had time to research right now.   Does anyone know the pros or cons of probiotics?  Our doctor suggested  Emetrol for nausea and Florastor for diarrhea.  We got the knockoff, Culturelle instead.  From what I can tell with a quick search, Florastor only works on a few bacteria and is otherwise useless.  Not sure if it will help in our case then or not.  Emetrol seemed to be what it said it was.   I guess time will tell.

Hope to be back soon!

  1. Florastor and Culturelle are actually two different probiotic strains. Florastor contains Saccharomyces boulardii, a probiotic yeast, and Culturelle contains Lactobacillus GG, a probiotic bacterium. Florastor has been clinically studied for a variety of gastrointestinal ailments, like antibiotic associated diarrhea. For more information, visit www.florastor.com.
