There is no hope for a civilization which starts each day to the sound of an alarm clock. ~Author Unknown*
I was up too late Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Monday I couldn't get up, so I turned off the alarm and slept until 9:30. I went to bed on time though and fully planned to get up at 5am Tuesday.
The alarm volume was turned down and I didn't hear it go off. I woke up at 6:30am to Dimples wanting to nurse. I sort of dozed in and out for another hour and a half. Yes, she can nurse that long. Obviously I wasn't fighting it that hard. I was in bed on time.
Wednesday I got up at 5am, no naps, and went to bed exhausted- right on time.
Thursday the same. I had a harder time sleeping last night though.
Today I got up at 5am, felt very ill. What is it with waking up early and feeling sick? It's an annoying side effect that I've had for years. Anyway, I laid on the couch because the room was spinning and went right to sleep. Woke up at 7:30, still feeling sick. I also really want to go back to sleep.
Not sure how this weekend is going to go. B and I want to watch the second disc of The Big Bang Theory, but I'll have to stay up late to do that. Saturday I need to get up early because Robotson is growing like a weed and we need to get him some new shorts. Plus we have to grab the birthday present for his friend's party that afternoon. Procrastination is my middle name. I don't think we'll be able to stay at the party late because I am going to be exhausted.
Overall my second week was better. I managed to get up early twice and not nap. Other than Monday, I was also able to get up earlier overall. Any time before 9am is "early" for us. I'm working towards getting myself to bed by midnight this weekend, and getting up on time at least three days next week, hopefully without needing naps.
*I really like that quotation. It was always one reason I was happy that we all got up at our natural times. Maybe someday 5am will be natural for me.
