What my children are reading this week

Wow, where has this week gone? Thursday just snuck up on me. Check out what others are reading at The Well-Read Child.

Robotson and I are now reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Though this is my third reading, I am remembering very little of the story. I'm not sure why that is. Perhaps I remember more of the first five because I listened to them in audio format in addition to reading. I don't know but it's like reading it again for the first time, except that I know the ending.

The girls and I read only a few new books this week.

I remember buying lift-the-flap books when Robotson was a baby, but they would always get torn. The same with pop-up books. This is the first that I've gotten for the girls and they really like it. They are also much more careful with the flaps. Must be a boy thing. Charlie and Lola are a big hit at our house. I just love how they get along and resolve their differences without resorting to screaming and fighting. This book is all about finding Sizzles, Marv's dog. He could be hiding anywhere!

Could Be Worse is a cute story. Grandpa never does anything fun, until he overhears his grandkids talking about how boring he is. Then he has a crazy adventure!

We borrowed The Tree from the library. This tree has been around for a long time, but it's in danger of being cut down. Can children save it? I think the girls might be too young to understand the message, but they like the illustrations. I'm sure we'll read it several times before we send it back.

Storynory requests this week

  1. I haven't read any of the book in your post. The Tree looks interesting. My post is here.

  2. I haven't read any of the books, except, of course, Harry Potter. I am really looking forward to the next movie. Will you take Robotson to see it?

  3. pussreboots- going to check it out now!

teachingyoungchildren-Yes! We can't wait to see the movie.

  4. Alpha and Gamma are reading the first Harry Potter book together for his before-bed book. They're both enjoying it!

I'll have to check the library for Could Be Worse - I think Gamma would really enjoy it!

    Thanks for the list!
