Monday Manners for 9/14/09

"When restraint and courtesy are added to strength, the latter becomes irresistible."
--Mohandas Gandhi

A lady never points out another's bad manners.

This got me thinking. There have been two very public occurrences of rudeness in the last week. The first was Joe Wilson, the Representative from South Carolina, who interrupted President Obama during his address to Congress on health care reform. The second was when Kanye West grabbed the microphone from Taylor Swift at the VMAs to belittle her win.
Both the President and Taylor Swift handled the discourtesy very well by remaining composed and moving forward.

I'm pretty sure it's rude to post this video, but it's really funny. I apologize!

  1. First of all, LMAO!!!

Secondly, yes, what is up with these outbursts from people? I am appalled. When did it become acceptable for people to interuppt others who are speaking, particularly in a public forum? These outbursts are calculated to cause humiliation and discombobulation (sp?).

    Not cool at all.

  2. For some reason being rude is cool these days. There seems to be a lot of the "I can say what I want, when I want" attitude. Like people actually believe it's their right to let others know what they think.
