Homeschool Days 1/28/10

"Anyone who says you can't see a thought simply doesn't know art."
~Wynetka Ann Reynolds

So sleepy... We have everlasting colds apparently, and I'm pretty sure B and I have sinus infections (read three days of terrible headaches).  I have to say that saline nasal spray is da bomb, but it's really creepy going down the back of your throat.  Fingers crossed that next week will bring relief.

We finished Tuck Everlasting early this week.  We haven't started The Black Stallion yet.  That's sort of a problem since we have the book club meeting next Wednesday.

I did pull out that book I was talking about last week, The Arbuthnot Anthology of Children's Literature.  That link is not exactly the same book, but close enough.  We read most of the nursery rhymes and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Yesterday, the kids and I made flowers for my mom.  She had surgery on Monday and will be in the hospital through the weekend.  Kids aren't allowed to visit, and actually neither am I since I'm sick.  But we spent our morning coloring, cutting, pasting, and creating flowers that she can keep longer than a week.  I thought they turned out really awesome.  I would have pics of the kids working on them, but they are allergic to clothing.

And speaking of art, a couple of weeks ago we did tracings.

  1. These flowers are so cute, and the tracings cracked me up. I hope everyone feels better soon.

  2. Thank you Mo and RaHC!

We are feeling a lot better. I'm so glad this one is over!
