"You learn something every day if you pay attention."
Like many homeschoolers, our new year is about to start. The only difference is that since we don't take the summer off - there is nothing really to write about. I've got to send in our intent to homeschool form next week, and order Robotson's standardized test; a requirement by law in Georgia after completing the third grade. Other than that, it's the same old, same old. I've missed writing about our weeks, so I hope to jump back into that.
The girls are spending more time with us (instead of going off to play on their own), perhaps because of the heat. We are staying inside, because we are a typical American family who does not like to be uncomfortable. There I said it. I used to try to decide if I would prefer to be hot or cold, but I've come to the realization that I would rather be comfortable. I have no interest in either sweating or freezing. I would like my days in the 70s; nights in the upper 50s, thank you.
Speaking of hot, we were in Florida two weeks ago for Dimples' birthday at DisneyWorld. We had our reasons for going in July, but it'll never happen again. If you are planning to, I highly recommend staying on resort, buying the dining plan, and getting a subscription to Touring Plans. Of course they just raised the ticket prices, so I don't know who can afford to go anymore.
Despite not blogging here, I have been spending the better part of this week writing. I've decided to watch less t.v., read more (I've really slacked off this year), and focus on our individual days - instead of the future. So I plan to be around more. Which is a good thing, I hope, since I've got zero traffic these days! I've got several drafts waiting to be finished, and some more things to write about to get me started. I think I can keep the momentum until about mid-October when I have to start feeling out birthdays and Christmas. Should be fun!
