January 2011: Week 2

Transitioning back into a routine is turning out to be harder than I expected.  This week was another step forward, but I can see now that it might be February before I am where I want to be.  It's all me though; Robotson has been totally awesome.  We finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows this week.  He was finally ready, and I mostly kept it together while reading.  He handled it better than I expected.  Next we are going to pick something much lighter to read and spend the rest of the month focused on mathematics.

A couple weeks ago we stayed up to watch the lunar eclipse, so when the pictures from the first solar eclipse of the new year showed up on The Big Picture, I made sure to show Robotson.  Photos #12 and #13 are interesting shots.  I asked him what he thought about burying people during an eclipse as a healing practice.  At first he didn't see a problem with it, but after talking through it for a few minutes he was less impressed.  He wanted to know why people would keep trying something over and over if it never worked.  Surely it must have worked at least once if they kept doing it?  I couldn't find an example of that being the case though.

Out of bread.
Georgia had a massive snowstorm on Monday and there is still snow and ice everywhere.  It's a pretty big deal.  Did you hear that there was only one state that had no snow this week?  Robotson got it on the first guess.  So needless to say, none of us really felt like doing a whole lot.  We did play a lot of DJ Hero 2.

That's about it for this week.  How about some pictures?

Piled in front of our door Tuesday morning.
